About the episode

In this episode, we consider the government’s policies which aimed to “Jordanize” of some sectors of the labor market, policies that halted migrant recruitment to make room for Jordanians and address unemployment. We look at some of these policies to see if they have made any progress. We also interview government officials and experts on labor issues to get their opinions on what went right and what went wrong.

Produced by Anas Damra, presented by Lina Shannak, audio engineered by Tayseer Kabbani, and edited by Sabreen Taha.

This episode is supported by the Heinrich Böll Foundation. All opinions are the author’s own.
